Built over 100 years ago, the hotel originally served as a summer residence for Europe's aristocracy. Nowadays, this hotel complex which consists of two interconnecting buildings is a complete holiday experience.

Guests have a choice of double rooms, family apartments with mini kitchen, or spacious suites which have a private sauna. If you really want to push the boat out, you could rent the Empress Elizabeth suite, a truly regal space with enormous living room, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, balcony, private sauna, Jacuzzi and open fireplace.

 The hotel's relaxation area has a panoramic indoor pool, whirlpool, steam bath, sauna and fitness room. There is a private beach on the lake if you prefer to relax in the fresh air. In summer the cafe on the sun terrace is somewhere to listen to live music while enjoying coffee and homemade cakes or ice cream.

The Grand Hotel in Zell am See, Austria has an enviable location. Situated on a private peninsula on the shores of Lake Zell close to the town centre, most of the 127 rooms have an enchanting view over the lake and mountains.

Visitors can choose from selected package breaks. The Wellness package  includes access to the Grand Spa, Turkish steam bath, gym and cardio room, while the Golf holiday package gives golfers a choice of 34 courses in the area with three green fees paid. Golfing beginners might choose a seven night package which includes four daily two hour lessons and all equipment. All packages include breakfast and dinner, a deluxe room with private sauna or steam shower and access to the Grand Spa. Family Week packages include free sailing lessons for adults and children, five day child care in the hotel kid's club for those aged between three and 10 and a family outing . For under 12s the package is free.
